Hello fellow liberty lovers, I'm sure you all noticed on the AVTM home page that the AVTM Podcast is now official and will be launching exactly one week from today! You will be able to DL the podcasts directly from an RSS feed, iTunes, libsyn (the host) or listen to them right from a flash player which will be displayed on the AVTM home page and the adamvstheman.com/podcast page.

I for one am VERY excited to have a daily libertarian/voluntaryist news source. Now that Judge Nepolitano is gone from TV (I didn't like having to support Fox by watching them anyway) we don't have too many options for getting the news that really matters, from a perspective that we can trust and respect. All respect and love where it is due to Infowars, WeAreChange, Stossel, and others, but I am just really looking forward to getting my news from a fellow voluntaryist and Dr. Paul protege, not to mention a Marine vet who has a very unique perspective regarding the foreign entangling alliances that the US gov't is constantly getting themselves into.

I will be subscribing and listening to this Podcast during lunch every day, it will be a great way to follow up my morning FreedomainRadio podcast!

Damn, John! You're on your stuff! I was about to start this thread ...

Anyway, my plan for the hour is to cover the immediate news of the day as necessary, then some time on feature stories, (newsmagazine-ish) and end with responding to listener emails.

I'd love y'all's input in advance to help make the show better serve the audience!

May I ask what you are using for recording? What do you know about Free/Libre software Adam? I currently am involved with a weekly community podcast called Linux Basix, and we use Mumble (similar to TeamSpeak but GPL licensed, and well - better!) which has recording features integrated. I've been thinking seriously about doing a podcast myself focusing on liberty, but with the idea people could join in to at least some degree. You can find me in http://OpenSpeak.cc - I hang out there most of the day in the lounge for right now until I get employed or get income rolling in for myself...

The first episode is up! Check it out: http://adamvstheman.com/podcast

For my podcast, I actually record it with my video camera so I can post clips to YT. I have a Samson USB mic, that goes to my MacBook Pro, and Audacity channels it to my speaker output along with anything else I play on it and that goes to the camera. I have one earbud in that's connected to the headphone monitor on the video camera. Certainly open to improvements, but for what I have and what I want to do, this seemed to be the most efficient!

Sweet, going to check it out right after this reply!

Nice, you also use Audacity, which is FOSS! (Free and Open Source Software) I have only played with it, but I foresee myself becoming much more familiar. Just as an FYI, FOSS is about freedom, as they say free as in speech, not free as in beer. The idea is that only if you distribute it, there not be any intent to control someone. They should be free to use it as they see fit, modify it as they see fit, etc. Imagine if you weren't allowed to put a different engine in your car, or open your trunk and use it to haul certain types of cargo because it was a perceived threat to the manufacturer. Imagine if you had a friend you wanted to help out and let borrow your car until they got theirs fixed, but the manufacturer used the rule of law to disallow this because your friend hadn't "purchased a license" from said manufacturer. Think about if the United States Constitution was copyrighted and considered intellectual property, and no other country could use parts of it to allow themselves to be free. It's really silly to consider IP to even be a valid idea once you understand and see the eventual ramifications. I realise the laws were initially about promoting the welfare of the public, but it was a mistake and is holding people back more than it is helping by concentrating power. in my humble observation, that was the intent all along and our forefathers fell for the ruse.

The issue is that, much like with business in general, we've grown accustomed to a perverted way of doing said business and therefore are in disbelief there is a better, more ethical, and even more beneficial to society as a whole, way of doing things. I'm working on solutions, and I see where liberty focused software and liberty as an ideology and movement could benefit from each other significantly. In fact there is a great disconnect and one washes the other's hand, if you will. It was the idea of community software, even if just in parts, that allowed communication in Tunisia and it was proprietary that was used to try to control, for example.

Anyhow, I can't wait to meet you one day, and perhaps we can converse soon. Keep up the good fight brother.

(I am Jason Benoit on Facebook...)

Just a small suggestion, could you move the libsyn link so its directly under the Itunes link (and if possible move the "direct download" link to your page so we dont have to go to another website)?

Hey Adam , I am somewhat an audio engineer and have set up internet radio solutions for radio stations among others in the past... I noticed your voice with a slight slur and then you mention there is slight delay in your earpiece . The reason why you are slurring and sound drunk is because you are listening in your earpiece to the delayed audio and trying to synchronize it in your head as you speak... It is impossible to this under these conditions... I suspect you have your mic feeding in to your computer and then the earpiece is sending that audio back out to your earpiece... You can have a SUPER COMPUTER and you will still have this delay , it is impossible to get rid of it ..

What you need is small cheap sound board with a few channels for inputs and outputs.... I have one that connects to my computer via USB or I can connect it using RCA jacks with an adapter that fits my computer inputs and outputs. You need to run your mic into the sound board and your earpiece from the sound boards MAIN OUTPUT. This way you will be able to hear your voice real time in your earpiece with no delay , Then you just run another audio out from the sound board into your audio in on the computer , And also run your audio out from your computer to an audio input on the sound board.... this way you can hear your voice and you can hear whatever sound effects or audio you play on your computer ...

You can get a cheap sound board like this one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-X ... 1153503.gc

Howdy just listening to the podcast about england and yea at the moment very rediculous here i think the fuel shortage is merely propaganda maybe a scare tactic to generate a little extra revenue before the end of the tax year for us (April)

Oh and please give a shout out to Nigel farage leader of UK independance party i believe hes our equivelant to Ron Paul speaking out numerous times against the European Union as does Daniel Hannan for what its doing and its destruction of modern democracy.

Adam,

My name is Greg and I am an admin for "Making Friends Through Ron Paul" on Facebook Groups and we'd love to have you join us as a member. I can connect you to some of our other members you might know if you follow youtube much. We also boast the most Ron Paul delegates out of any FB group other than Ron Paul's official Group.

Some of our members include: Minister Derrick Grayson (a fan of yours), Amanda "ABillyRock" Johnson (on the front page of the Daily Ron Paul today) and radio personality Josh Tolley. I'm throwing out an invite so you can access our nearly 5100 loyal Ron Paulers and tap into the flow that is "Making Friends..." Cross promotion is encouraged.

Anyway, thanks for your consideration. Stay curious, witness history, and peace. The revolution is not being televised.

Sincerely,

Greg Bays
